In a speech to a joint session of Congress, President Barack Obama says the money Americans have deposited in U.S. banks is safe and the nation can rely on the continued operation of the financial system. The banks must be made responsible for their mistakes and stop depending on the government to bail them out. Someone needs to watch over them....
